Customer Reviews PolicyUpdated 11 days ago
Customers use reviews to learn more about the listing, assess whether it fits their needs, and make an informed purchase decision. Customer reviews also help vendors understand the customers' sentiment about their listings, what features or aspects of the listing customers like, and what areas need improvements. Reviews also provide vendors with ideas on how to improve their listings. For customer reviews to continue to provide these benefits to customers and vendors, they have to remain an authentic reflection of customers' experiences with the listings.
This policy is applied consistent with the FTC's Consumer Reviews and Testimonials Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 465). The Amplife® Terms of Service govern customers' use of reviews on our sites; your obligations as a vendor come from the Amplife® Vendor Participation Agreement ("Agreement"), the Vendor Code of Conduct, and this policy. Please report any violations you notice to [email protected].
How Reviews Work on Amplife®
Verified Buyer. A review is labeled "Verified Buyer" only when the reviewer completed a purchase of the reviewed item on an Amplife® Site.
Sentiment-neutral moderation. We may remove a review only for the content criteria in the Terms of Service and this policy, for example, abusive or obscene language, personal information, off-topic content, illegal content, or evidence that the review is fake, paid for, or otherwise inauthentic. These criteria are applied the same way regardless of the review's sentiment or star rating. We do not suppress, remove, or delay reviews because they are negative, and we do not select which reviews to display based on star rating.
Vendor-provided testimonials. If a listing page displays quotes or testimonials that you provided, they are labeled as vendor-provided and are not included in the listing's star rating or review count.
Asking Customers for Reviews
You may ask your customers for reviews if you do it neutrally:
Ask in a way that seeks the customer's honest opinion, whether positive or negative.
Do not offer any incentive, money, refunds, discounts, free listings, or anything else of value, for a review, for a positive review, or for changing or removing a review.
Do not limit review requests to customers you expect to be happy, and do not steer dissatisfied customers away from Amplife® reviews while sending satisfied customers to them (review "gating").
Violations
Violations of this Customer Reviews Policy include, but are not limited to, these actions:
A vendor reviews their own listing or a competitor's listing, directly, through a family member or employee, through a customer account, or through any third party. This is prohibited by the Vendor Code of Conduct, which governs this conduct.
A vendor offers a third party a financial reward, discount, free listings, or other compensation in exchange for a review of their listing or their competitor's listing. This includes using services that sell customer reviews, websites, or social media groups.
A vendor offers to provide a refund or reimbursement after the buyer writes a review (including reimbursement via a non-Amplife® payment method), and asks the buyer to change or remove the review, before or after the refund or reimbursement. This could be done by directly contacting customers or using 3rd party services, websites, or social media groups.
A vendor asks a reviewer to change or remove their review, or offers a refund or other compensation to a reviewer in exchange for doing so.
A vendor diverts negative reviews to be sent to them or a different feedback mechanism while positive reviews are sent to Amplife® (review gating).
A vendor inserts a request for a positive Amplife® review, or an incentive in exchange for a review, into listing packaging or shipping box.
Note: References to "vendor" here include all the vendor's employees and third-party partners.
Policy Violations
If we determine that customer reviews have been manipulated, actions we may take include, but are not limited to:
Immediate suspension or termination of your Amplife® account under Section 3(b) of the Agreement, without a cure period, and withholding of funds as described in the Funds Withholding Policy.
The removal of the affected reviews or of all the listing's reviews, and preventing the listing from receiving future reviews or ratings.
Permanent removal of your listings from Amplife®.
Legal action, including lawsuits and referral to civil and criminal enforcement authorities.
This policy is a Program Policy under the Agreement. If anything in this policy conflicts with the Agreement or the applicable Service Terms, the Agreement and Service Terms control.
